The fifth golden buzzer of Britain’s Got Talent 2026 has been given out, with hosts Ant and Dec giving it out.
The latest episode of the ITV show that aired today (Saturday, March 28) was going through another set of opening round auditions.
One act really caught the eye of hosts Ant and Dec after giving a funny stand-up set that had the audience and judges in fits of laughter.
Ted Hill awarded golden buzzer in latest BGT episode
Ant and Dec awarded their golden buzzer to comedian Ted Hill, who incorporated a presentation into his jokes.
He combined his day job of presenting science shows to children with his love of comedy, which won over the judges and the watching viewers.
His website shares: “Hill has performed three different hours at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, and had a successful 3-date run at the prestigious Soho Theatre.”
It adds: “His fast-paced comedy is often an expose on his real experiences with autism and ADHD, and an ode to his many special interests, from US presidents to graphs and maps.”
Plenty of viewers took to X to share their love for Ted’s act, as one posted: “Absolutely hilarious and deserving of the golden buzzer!”
Another commented: “Deserved that buzzer … I thought he was great … unique”.
A third said: “I loved that audition. He’s really funny.”
Not everyone felt it was deserved though, as one wrote: “The Golden Buzzer literally means nothing anymore.
“What happend to acts who actually deserved it?
“It’s just given out to anyone like sweets nowadays.”
Who else has got a golden buzzer so far in BGT 2026?
Ant and Dec’s golden buzzer was the fifth of the series, with Simon Cowell, KSI, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden already pressing theirs.
Simon was the first to press the gold in the opening episode, to Australian para athlete Paul Nunnari, who blew away the judging panel with his incredible wheelchair stunts.
KSI awarded the second golden buzzer of the series to 16-year-old magician Rafferty Coope, whose trick involved making a coin pass through solid glass and a card trick that led to him playing the song Don’t Stop Believing on the piano.
The third golden buzzer was awarded to entertainment act Antigravity by Alesha Dixon.
Their audition followed one of the actors as they floated around on a screen, following routes and paths as if they were in a video game.
The judges said it was one of the best performances in the show’s 19-year history, and the first of its kind.
Finally, Amanda Holden awarded her golden buzzer to the 34-person choir made up entirely of real British farmers.
It was created as a promotional and campaigning project linked to Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone beer and cider brand.
