After a dismal start to life under Josh Carr against the Roos, Port Adelaide could be 2-1 and further entrench themselves in the top 10.

But even after dominating the Eagles in pre-season, the Power won’t want to rest on their laurels after West Coast’s upset of the Kangaroos in round 2.

Q2: EAGLES TURN OFF THE SNOOZE BUTTON

West Coast have woken up and are making a game of it against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

After looking like they were still in bed in the first quarter the Eagles have come to play in the second quarter and are eating into the Power’s lead.

A Jake Waterman goal on the siren has brought the margin back to eight points at half-time after the Eagles fought back and won the second term.

The margin could have been even less but Waterman missed a sitter earlier on in the term.

After a poor first quarter the Eagles have lifted their pressure and are beating the Power in the contest as well as on the outside.

Q1: POWER SURGE LEAVES EAGLES IN THE DUST

Port Adelaide have come out firing, kicking the first four goals of the game to take a healthy first-quarter lead over West Coast.

Much has been made of the early start for Sunday’s game at Adelaide Oval, especially what it will be for the body clock of Eagles players.

And West Coast looked like it was still in bed as the Power raced out of the blocks.

Jack Lukosius kicked the first goal of the game just 30 seconds in, and he was joined by Jack Whitlock with two goals, Jack Watkins and Mitch Georgiades in the Power’s fast start.

For the Eagles, Bo Allan and Elliot Yeo have kicked goals but it is the Power who are in control.
