Joni Mitchell received the Lifetime Achievement Award, only the third recipient in Juno history.The Beaches made history as the first all-women band to win group of the year three years in a row.Nelly Furtado was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, in a tribute from numerous artists, including Lido Pimienta, Tanya Tagaq, Kardinal Offishall and a video appearance from Drake.Bbno$ took home the TD Juno Fan Choice award for a second year in a row.Daniel Caesar picked up two awards Sunday night for a total of three over the weekend.Rush kicked off the show with a historic performance: it’s the first time the group has played publicly with new drummer Anika Nilles since the death of Neil Peart in 2020.Winners at last night’s Juno Awards Gala — the industry awards that take place the night before the Junos — included Tate McRae, who won four awards, Daniel Caesar, the Beaches, Aysanabee and Sadboi, among others.
