A Sydney restaurant, the Daily Telegraph and Ofir Birenbaum, the man at the centre of the attempted sting operation codenamed “UNDERCOVERJEW”, have settled several ongoing legal matters, including a defamation suit filed by Birenbaum and a trespass counter-claim made by the restaurant.
The Daily Telegraph and Cairo Takeaway apologised as part of a joint statement published in theTelegraph on Monday — the restaurant for false and defamatory remarks, and the Telegraph for inciting “distress” through its attempted sting operation.
