Scott’s ace came at the par-3 11th, where he flushed a 189-yard 8-iron to the front of the green before watching it roll straight into the cup, igniting the crowd.

It capped a big day of fireworks in Houston, with Ireland’s Shane Lowry earlier making an ace of his own at the second hole from 170 yards. Popular American Gary Woodland then sailed home with a comprehensive five-shot victory, capping off a remarkable comeback from brain surgery.

For Scott, who’s enjoying somewhat of a late career resurgence ahead of next week’s Masters Tournament, it marks the third hole-in-one of his PGA Tour career and his first in 14 years, and propelled him to a final-round 71 and T-21 finish.
