Aaden Reed claimed the Stars and Stripes in the Amateur 19+ category, and Samuel McKenzie won the Amateur 14-18 title.

Over the weekend, the top American BMX Freestyle competitors gathered at COR Park to battle for the Stars and Stripes. The Amateur categories kicked off the competition on Friday with qualifying rounds to narrow the fields to the top riders for finals. In the final round, Samuel McKenzie (Park City, Utah) took gold in the Amateur 14-18 category, scoring 95.05 points in his final run. In the Amateur 19+ final, Aaden Reed (Brunswick, Ohio) came out on top, with his first run score of 97.39 points.

On Saturday, eighteen contestants across the Elite Men’s and Women’s categories dropped in to the course. In the Elite Women’s final, former World Champion Hannah Roberts (Buchanan, Mich.) came away with the victory. The battle for silver came down to just a half-point, with Angie Marino (Buffalo, N.Y.) securing second. Kier Sirlin (Salt Lake City, Utah) rounded out the podium with bronze. 

The Elite Men’s final was incredibly close, with three points separating the top four riders. In the end, former World Champion Justin Dowell (Virginia Beach, V.A.) took the top step of the podium with a score of 95.10. Marcus Christopher (Canton, Ohio) and Daniel Sandoval (Corona, Calif.) placed second and third, respectively, separated by less than a point.
