Two of America’s most iconic soap operas are returning to Australian free-to-air screens, promising fresh drama for loyal daytime viewers.

Days of our Lives and The Young & the Restless, two popular longstanding US soap operas, are set to make a return to Australian free-to-air screens in August, with both series scheduled to air on the 10 Drama channel.

Beginning from Monday, 4 August, Days of our Lives will be broadcast at midday, starting with episode 15165, which is identified as episode 211 in season 60. Directly afterwards, The Young and the Restless will air at 12:45pm, commencing with episode 13170 (or episode 200 in season 52).

Episodes of both programs will be broadcast on the 10 Drama multichannel Monday to Friday, with a delay of approximately two weeks from their original US air dates.

The two soaps will continue to also be released in advance on 10’s streaming website (formerly known as 10Play), giving Australian audiences the option to watch online fast-tracked and remain closely aligned with US broadcast schedules.

10 is yet to confirm any free-to-air broadcast plans for another long-standing US soap, General Hospital. The series remains available to stream via 10’s website.

Australian viewers have faced ongoing challenges in keeping up with Days of our Lives and The Young & the Restless over recent years, as the programs have shifted between a number of local broadcasters including Nine, Foxtel, and 9GEM. With the move to 10 Drama, fans will once again have the opportunity to follow these soap operas on free-to-air television.
