DEAN Campbell’s campaign for back-to-back Bathurst 6 Hour victories will come with a former event winner – but not the man with whom he conquered the Mountain last year.
Campbell was due to share his BMW M2 Competition once more with Cameron Crick, only for illness to intervene.
“While it’s extremely disappointing to not be able to defend the crown, I believe I’ve made the correct decision for the team,” said Crick.
Enter Brad Jones Racing Supercars regular Cameron Hill, who won the 2022 edition of the Easter production car enduro alongside Tom Sargent.
“We’re obviously disappointed for Cam because he’s been such a part of this team and we’re really good mates – but sometimes these things happen,” said Campbell.

“We’re fortunate that Cam Hill was available and isn’t far away from Bathurst so could get here in time to compete.
“He, Cricky and I are great mates so it’s all worked out.
“His track record here, and in the sport in general, is brilliant so there’s no concerns with him having the ability to jump in and be on the pace from lap one and help us achieve another good result at our home race.”
The #92 entry of Thomas Randle and Michael Kavich topped Practice 1 this morning.
