After a remarkable goal to beat Port Adelaide last year, Fremantle captain Alex Pearce has produced another remarkable moment at Adelaide Oval with a desperate smother.
“In that last quarter, they had all the momentum. We spoke about trying to stand up and be calm,” Pearce told Fox Footy.
“I’m so proud of the guys, the way they handled themselves out there, the way we were still able to play our way and not bomb it away. It was fantastic.
“A few times there, I thought we were done. They’re a good side, Adelaide. To be able to come back like they did, ride their crowd, they just kept on coming and made it so hard for us.”
