As the episode begins, Steffy is still explaining to Deacon why he can’t be with Taylor. And man, does she sound the fed-up mother of a teenager with an incorrigible boyfriend! At Taylor’s office, the shrink flashes back to Sheila busting into her room with a knife. Hey, Doc, how’s about some therapy for that PTSD?

At Deacon and Sheila’s, she’s still wondering how he got sand in his shoes — in California. Gee, what ever could the reason be? And back at Forrester, Brooke fishes for information about R.J.’s crush. Speaking of whom, Electra is nearby and is startled to see the photo of her and R.J. that she didn’t post. “Did you post this?” she asks Ivy.

Ivy Tells the Truth — But Not the Whole Truth

In the FC showroom, Brooke continues to take an over-the-top interest in R.J.’s affections for Electra and seems happy that he’s developing an insta-attachment to his cousin. “Somehow she totally gets me,” R.J. admits. And for anyone who’s forgotten, Brooke serves up a reminder that Stephanie’s affair with Massimo resulted in Ridge’s birth, so R.J. isn’t blood-related to Electra.

In the design office, Ivy admits that she posted the photo of Electra and R.J. in hopes of forcibly moving her on from Will. The Aussie then lists Will’s misdeeds — including being with another woman the night before he was with Electra. He was raped by Luna, but “I don’t care that he was taken advantage of,” Ivy says. Wow. That is some ugly [bleep] right there.

Taylor Leaves Steffy At Her Wit’s End

When Steffy drops by Taylor’s office, she explains that she handled things with Deacon. (Only she didn’t, not really.) Now she needs to settle things with her mom. (Which spoiler alert: She isn’t going to.)

“Sheila,” Steffy says — and it should be needlessly — “is too dangerous” to have her husband stolen. At that very moment, Sheila is questioning her better half about where he’s been. Soon, a discussion of what a good restaurant manager she is turns into talk about how she does it all because she loves him. “I don’t know what I’d do,” she says ominously, “if I ever lost you.”

Back at Taylor’s office, she assures Steffy that there won’t be any consequences of her and Deacon’s secret romance. How can Taylor be so sure of that? Did Deacon leave anything behind that Sheila could have seen? Well, his shirt, Taylor admits. But she made sure loverboy’s wife didn’t see it.

If only she realized the dang pizza box was the real smoking gun!

Brooke Gives Her Seal of Approval

At Deacon and Sheila’s, she calls him on his sandy shoes. Then again, “if the worst thing that my husband does is leave his shoes in the living room,” she says, “I will be a lucky woman.” He makes her feel safe and cherished, she adds, laying it on thick. “And you have never given me a reason to doubt.”

You can just hear the unspoken “until now.”

Sheila goes on to say her marriage to Deacon means everything to her (since this week she’s forgotten about Finn and Hayes). She won’t let anyone or anything take that away. Yeah, yeah, we get it.

In the episode’s final moments, R.J. and Brooke gossip about bad blood between Dylan and Electra. “If it were up to me,” he adds, “Electra would never be unhappy again.” Sounds good to Brooke; she then goes on the record saying Electra is the girl he deserves.

Is *This* the Moment Sheila Snaps?

In the design office, Electra gently calls out Ivy for going behind her back and posting the pic where Will might see it. But her aunt manages to talk her way out of the hot lukewarm seat by pointing out how happy she’s been since her lemon bar date with R.J. In turn, Electra eventually concedes. “Will was my first love, but R.J. makes me happy.”

She also might just really, really like lemon bars.

In Taylor’s office, Steffy doesn’t want to hear any more of her mom’s assumptions of what Sheila does or doesn’t know. Instead, she calls security and has Sheila banned from the building. In closing, Steffy pleads for the zillionth time for Mom to understand that she and Deacon are a non-starter. Oh Lord! Just as Steffy exits, Deacon enters with a pizza — all his delivery-guy disguise is missing is the Mario Kart mustache Luna wore!

Naturally, it is at that very moment that Sheila drops by the building to see Taylor. The security guard stops her, though: tipoff No. 104 that Deacon’s stepping out with Taylor!
