Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort is known for wanting to make draft-day trades. When they had the No. 3 overall pick in 2023, they moved back to the 12th pick and then back up to No. 6 to draft tackle Paris Johnson.

According to draft analyst Todd McShay, the Cardinals want to move back in this year’s draft, where they have the No. 3 overall pick again. Per McShay, the Cardinals want to draft a tackle but don’t have one graded highly enough to take third overall.

If that is the case, they could be looking at trading back and selecting a tackle like Utah’s Spencer Fano or Georgia’s Monroe Freeling. Miami’s Francis Mauigoa is likely someone they like as well, but depending on how far back they potentially trade to, he might end up unavailable.

Of course, by targeting a lineman, they would also be passing on a pass rusher. They passed on Will Anderson in 2023. Arvell Reese, David Bailey and Rueben Bain are all pass rushers expected to go near the top of the first round. They could be the target for a team looking to move up and trade with the Cardinals.

So be watching for a potential draft-day deal on April 23.
