TV baker Paul Hollywood has made a plea for information after his brother was apparently kicked in the head after a row with another dog walker when their pets barked at each other.
The Great British Bake Off judge said his brother Lee – who is also a baker – was the victim of an attack in Leasowe, Wirral, at about 19:00 BST on Friday.
Merseyside Police said a man in his 50s was punched and then kicked in the face in the “nasty, unprovoked assault”.
The second man “became irate” after separating the animals, attacking the other dog walker as he walked away from Links View Playing Fields, the force said.
Mr Hollywood, 59, posted on his Instagram page: “If you have information regarding this attack on Friday night, the person in question who was attacked is my brother Lee.”
The TV judge asked anyone with “any information” to “please” contact the police.
Det Insp Phil Ryan also appealed for anyone who saw the attack, or a man leaving the area, to come forward.
