Ferrari expect engine upgrade under ADUO will help cut gap to Mercedes

‘Today, they lack horsepower and the ability to make the most of their electrical reserves, a deficit that was evident on the Japanese straights and was loudly emphasised by Hamilton. To fill it, the imposed break won’t be enough: a technical process established by the regulations, the ADUO (Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities), will be needed. Fred Vasseur: ‘We’ll have to wait for this type of mechanism to see a clear improvement in this regard.”
Formula 2’s 10th season: Lindblad on his time in the championship and stepping up to F1 (Formula 2)
‘I met Jenson Button at the 2014 British Grand Prix and he said to me always work hard and drive smooth, and that is a piece of advice I’ve always remembered.’
Best and worst of: Brundle (The Telegraph)
Martin Brundle: ‘Breaking my ankle in Dallas in 1984 was the thing that really changed the direction of my life. I couldn’t run anymore. I couldn’t left-foot brake later on in my career. I smashed myself up, which I still struggle with today. I’ve got a titanium ankle now. Even when I limp, I feel lucky to be alive, especially with the era of racing that I came through.’
‘In fact, they can do some things that Formula One cars are not allowed to do, such as torque vectoring, which is where they power each wheel with its own motor to help their driver twist into corners. It also helps with traction and wet weather driving.’
Where has Dixon’s qualifying pace gone? Ganassi’s on the hunt for answers (Racer)
‘If you look at the consistent laps of the last 30 laps of the race, we were faster than anybody else. And now these days, if we miss the peak by a third of a lap, it moves us back immediately when the tires come on, so reading the tires correctly to get the full lap is a big case study. But even when we miss it, we go out and we run really well on the tires during the race. We’re not finding the peak in the tire at the right time. So that’s what we’re working on.’
