Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley, was laid to rest alongside her father and son Benjamin Keough in Graceland’s Meditation Garden in 2023.
The 54-year-old spent a significant portion of her early years at the Memphis Mansion, prior to her father’s untimely death at age 42 in 1977.
In previous interviews, the King’s daughter fondly recalled her mischievous childhood antics. But did you know that the playful youngster left some hidden graffiti in a “secret drawer” that remains there to this day?
Graceland archivist Angie Marchese unveiled this during a live virtual tour of the Memphis mansion that Express.co.uk participated in.
She highlighted the “secret drawer” in the hallway next to the kitchen, which leads into the Jungle Room from the main entrance. Interestingly, it’s right where fans stroll during the regular in-person tour of Graceland.
Even after Elvis’s passing in 1977 and the commencement of home tours in 1982, Aunt Delta continued to reside at Graceland, utilizing her bedroom and kitchen until her death in 1993 at age 74.
During the 1970s, she looked after Lisa Marie while Elvis slept during the day, ensuring she had her bath and dinner.
Interestingly, numerous items remain untouched in the drawers at Graceland, left exactly as they were by the mansion’s inhabitants. For instance, plates and glasses are still stored in the kitchen cabinets, along with china in the dining room cabinets.
Additionally, a samurai sword gifted to Elvis by a Japanese officer is randomly housed in a drawer in the music room.
Lisa Marie viewed Graceland as her family home and occasionally celebrated Thanksgiving there at the dining room table. The china she used is stored in the drawers of Aunt Delta’s bedroom, which is connected to the kitchen and isn’t included in the tour.
After her passing, Graceland and its contents were inherited by Elvis’ three granddaughters, Riley Keough, 33, and 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley Lockwood.
