Former Australian Test cricketer David Warner has been charged with mid-range drink driving in Sydney’s east over the weekend.
Police were conducting random breath testing on Malabar Road in Maroubra about 5:30pm on Sunday when a van allegedly stopped short of the site and parked.
Officers approached the vehicle and subjected the 39-year-old driver — since confirmed to be Warner — to roadside testing.
The test returned a positive result, and Warner was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station.
A second test allegedly returned a reading of 0.104.
Warner has been charged with middle-range drink driving and is due to appear in court in May.
Warner retired from international cricket in 2024 and has continued to play in the Big Bash League.
