Essendon have referred a case of suspected vandalism to Victoria Police after the club was targeted over the Easter long weekend with an estimated five-figure sum of damage.
Bombers officials returned to the club’s home base in Tullamarine on Tuesday to find grass that had been burnt with petrol.
In writing that was hard to decipher in one pocket of the main oval, it’s understood the messaging related to the club’s disastrous start to the season and frustrations towards the coaching staff.
