Baked beans, tinned tomatoes sales jump as households stockpile pantry staples amid Middle East war

Households began stockpiling tinned food in March as the Middle East war raged, buying up extra cans of baked beans, tomatoes and packaged fruit to prepare for uncertain times.

One of Australia’s largest fruit and vegetable processors, SPC Global, said sales of those three categories jumped by up to 20 per cent in late March at major supermarket retailers.
