Former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones made possibly his most revealing statement yet about his fighting future.

After months of lobbying for a spot on the upcoming White House card, UFC legend Jon Jones was left off the event entirely, after repeatedly being publicly shut down by UFC CEO Dana White. Jones’ recent admission that he suffers from severe hip arthritis seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for the UFC’s plans for Jones.

Jones then came out publicly and accused White and the UFC matchmakers of ‘lowballing’ him in contract negotiations. As he shared in numerous social media posts, Jones alleged he asked for more than $15 million to fight on the upcoming White House card, but the UFC wasn’t willing to budge past his desired figure.

Since the UFC Freedom 250 fallout, Jones has publicly called for his release from the promotion, although as of this writing, no move has been made by the UFC brass. Some fans and pundits remain hopeful that Jones will eventually come to terms with White and the UFC for a potential comeback fight against either Alex Pereira or Tom Aspinall.

Those hopes were seemingly shut down by Jones himself in a recent admission.

Jon Jones says he’s ‘hung up the gloves’ in revealing statement after UFC feud

In a recent Vlog filmed by Red Corner MMA, Jones made a revealing statement on his potential return to MMA after his recent fallout with the UFC.

“My gloves are hung up, I’m chilling these days,”

“You have ‘Business Jon Jones’, no more fighter Jon Jones. The businessman.”

If Jones is done with fighting for good, the former UFC heavyweight champion will turn his attention towards the growth of top protege Gable Steveson, who could be signed by the UFC later this year. Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, is unbeaten in his young MMA career.
