A Swindon stuntman has impressed Simon Cowell and made it through to the next round of Britain’s Got Talent.
Darren Tait took to the Britain’s Got Talent stage on Saturday night’s episode, delivering a comical nautical routine set to Good Vibrations.
When introducing himself, he told the judges: “Today I’m bringing something really new and giving the people what they want to see – entertainment at its finest.”
Viewers saw the routine take an unexpected turn when part of the stunt did not go exactly to plan and the anchor slipped out of his hands, but Darren kept his composure and improvised, winning laughs from the judges and audience as he carried on with the performance.
Judge KSI pressed the red buzzer to indicate he would be voting no, followed by Amanda Holden, who said “I didn’t really know what that was.”
But Simon Cowell, laughing throughout the performance, and Alesha Dixon gave Darren a standing ovation, with Alisha commenting “I was quite enjoying that.”
“Darren, I actually thought that was very funny. I haven’t seen anyone do that before. It really, really made me laugh”, said Simon.
After Simon voted yes, he encouraged the other judges to help Darren secure a place in the next round of the competition.
Despite pressing their buzzers, KSI and Amanda voted yes, along with Alesha and Darren looked delighted as he left the stage.
“That’s the winner”, Simon added.
