Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets recalled forward Brayden Yager and Nikita Chibrikov from the AHL’s Manitoba Moose on emergency conditions.

Yager, 21, has 10 goals and 30 points in 68 AHL games this season, his first as a professional hockey player.

The 5-foot-11 centre was drafted 14th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2023 and then dealt to the Jets in August of 2024 in exchange for prospect Rutger McGroarty.

Prior to this season, Yager played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Letbridge Hurricanes and helped Moose Jaw to a WHL championship in 2023-24.

Yager represented Canada twice at the World Juniors in 2024 and 2025, finishing fifth both times.

The Saskatoon, Sask., native could make his NHL debut on Monday against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Chibrikov, 23, appeared in eight games with the Jets this season but has not recorded a point.

The 5-foot-10 winger has six goals and 16 points in 53 games with the Moose this season.

Chibrokov was drafted 50th overall by the Jets in 2021.

Winnipeg is five points out of a playoff spot entering Sunday’s action with only three games remaining in the regular season.

They have back-to-back games on the road against the Golden Knights and Utah Mammoth on Monday and Tuesday before wrapping up the regular season at home against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers recalled forward Isaac Howard from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors on Sunday.

Howard, 22, was acquired by the Oilers last off-season from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for prospect Sam O’Reilly.

The 5-foot-10 winger appeared in 28 games in Edmonton this season, recording two goals and five points. He also has 22 goals and 47 points in 45 games in the AHL.

Howard entered this season as the reigning Hobey Baker Award winner after registering 26 goals and 52 points in 37 games in the NCAA with Michigan State University during the 2024-25 campaign.

The Hudson, Wisc., native was also a member of Team USA at the 2025 World Hockey Championships where he helped his country end a 92-year gold-medal drought.

He also represented the United States at the World Juniors in 2024, recording seven goals and nine points to help the United Sates win gold.

Edmonton sits second in the Pacific Division with a 40-30-10 record and are one point behind the Vegas Golden Knights for top spot and a point ahead of the Anaheim Ducks.

They wrap up the season at home against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday followed by their regular season finale against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators recalled forward Hayden Hodgson from the AHL’s Belleville Senators on Sunday.

Hodgson, 30, appeared in nine games in Ottawa this season without recording a point. He also has six goals and 11 points in 47 games in the AHL.

Ottawa clinched a playoff position for the second straight season on Saturday after they defeated the New York Islanders 3-0.

They are battling for playoff positioning with two games remaining in the regular season as they are tied with the Boston Bruins for the first wild-card position.

The Senators are in the midst of a four-game winning streak and winners of five of their last six games. They take on the New Jersey Devils on the road on Sunday followed by their regular season finale at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes assigned forward Josiah Slavin to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves on Sunday.

Slavin, 27, appeared in his only two games with the Hurricanes last week, skating 15:58 in the team’s 7-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday and then had 14:04 of ice time in the Hurricanes’ 4-1 win over the Utah Mammoth on Saturday.

The 6-foot-3 winger also has six goals and 25 points in 66 games in the AHL this season.

Carolina is cemented as the Metropolitan Division winner with a 52-22-6 record this season.

They finish off the regular season with a road back-to-back against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday and New York Islanders on Tuesday.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche recalled defenceman Jack Ahcan from the AHL’s Colorado Eagles on Sunday.

Ahcan, 28, appeared in nine games with the Avalanche this season, recording two assists and averaged 11:27 of ice time.

He also has 11 goals and 50 points in 60 games in the AHL this season.

Colorado clinched the Presidents’ Trophy this season with a 52-16-11 record.

They will be without head coach Jared Bednar for their upcoming two-game road trip against the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers on Monday and Tuesday after taking a puck to the face during Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Avalanche will then wrap up the regular season at home against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.

Dallas Stars

The Stars assigned forward Cameron Hughes to the AHL’s Texas Stars on Sunday.

Hughes, 29, appeared in three games with Dallas this season, recording a goal.

The 6-foot centre has 16 goals and 66 points in 63 games in the AHL this season.

Dallas cemented in second place in the Central Division with a 48-20-12 record and will be taking on the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the playoffs.

They wrap up the regular season with a two-game Eastern road trip against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday followed by a meeting with the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings recalled forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygard from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday.

Brandsegg-Nygard, 20, was the Red Wings first-round draft choice (15th overall) in 2024.

He appeared in 12 games with the Red Wings this season, recording an assist and also has 20 goals and 44 points in 58 AHL games.

The Red Wings sit sixth in the Atlantic Division with a 41-30-9 record and were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday, continuing their drought to a 10th straight campaign.

Detroit wraps up the regular season on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday followed by the Florida Panthers on Wednesday.

Nashville Predators

The Predators assigned defenceman Jordan Oesterle to the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals on Sunday.

Oesterle, 33, made his NHL season debut on Thursday in 4-1 loss to the Utah Mammoth where he had 14:05 of ice time.

The 6-foot, left-shot blueliner has 14 goals and 46 points in 65 games in the AHL this season.

Nashville is trying to chase down final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, sitting one point behind the Los Angeles Kings.

The Predators wrap up the season at home against the San Jose Sharks on Monday and Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers recalled defenceman David Jiricek from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Sunday.

Jiricek, 22, was acquired prior to the trade deadline from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Bobby Brink.

The 6-foot-4, right-shot blueline appeared in 25 games with the Wild this season without registering a point and averaged 11:43 of ice time. He also has four goals and 23 points in 37 AHL games this season split between the Phantoms and Iowa Wild.

Jiricek was originally drafted sixth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022.

Philadelphia is clinging to the final Metropolitan Division playoff spot with a 27-12-94 record, holding off the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders by three points.

They finish the regular season with back-to-back games at home against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday and the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without forwards Ben Kindel, Noel Acciari, Anthony Mantha, and defencemen Ryan Shea and Connor Clifton as they take on the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

The following players will not play today in Washington and their statuses are considered day to day:

Additionally, Stuart Skinner gets the start in net against the Capitals. He has a 23-16-9 record this season split between the Edmonton Oilers and Penguins with a 2.89 goals-against average and an .889 save percentage.

Pittsburgh sits second in the Metropolitan Division with a 41-23-16 record, four points ahead of the Philadelphia Flyers. They clinched the playoffs on Thursday after they defeated the New Jersey Devils 5-2 to end a three-year playoff drought.

The Penguins end the season on the road against the Capitals on Sunday followed by a date with the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks recalled defenceman Luca Cagnoni from the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda on Sunday.

Cagnoni, 21, appeared in six games with the Sharks this season, recording two assists. he also has 8 goals and 43 points in 67 games in the AHL.

The 5-foot-9., left-shot defenceman was drafted 123rd overall by the Sharks in 2023 and registered 16 goals and 52 points last season in the AHL, his first as a professional.

San Jose sits five points back of the Los Angeles Kings for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with three games remaining in the regular season.

The Sharks finish the season with a three-game road trip beginning with a crucial game against the Nashville Predators on Monday, followed by back-to-back games against the Chicago Blackhawks and Winnipeg jets on Wednesday and Thursday.

Washington Capitals

The Capitals recalled goaltender Clay Stevenson from the AHL’s Hershey Bears on Sunday and assigned netminder Mitch Gibson to Hershey.

Stevenson, 27, appeared in three games with the Capitals this season, going 2-1-0 with a 2.33 goals-against average and .904 save percentage.

He also has a 16-12-3 record in Hershey this season with a 2.64 GAA and .910 save percentage.

Gibson did not appear with the Capitals during his stint with the NHL club.

He has a 9-8-3 record in the AHL this season with a 2.79 GAA and .907 save percentage.

Washington is chasing the final playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division, sitting three points back of the Philadelphia Flyers as they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday.

The Capitals wrap up the regular season at home against the Penguins on Sunday followed by their regular season finale against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
