Following in the footsteps of Paul McCartney, Lou Reed, Lady Gaga and The Strokes, your Football Weekly favourites (responsible for just as much era-defining audio content) will take to the stage at the world-famous Bowery Ballroom in New York City.
Taking place just three days before the World Cup final, it’s the perfect event to talk all things World Cup 2026 and to preview England’s inevitable trophy lift in New Jersey. If that does happen, this might also be your last opportunity to see Barry Glendenning in public.
Places are limited and we’re assuming that their assist guiding mayor Zohran Mamdani to election victory last year will make this the hottest event in town.

Max Rushden is widely known as the rail replacement bus service of broadcasting in the UK. No one is excited to see him, but he provides a solution that you need. He has been the host of the Guardian Football Weekly podcast since 2017. He lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and two young children. He is very tired.
Barry Glendenning, the self-proclaimed “beating heart” of the Guardian Football Weekly podcast. He feels he has an undeserved reputation for being cynical, curmudgeonly and biased against whatever team you follow. An Irishman who has lived in London for 27 years, he will be genuinely traumatised if England win the World Cup.
