Trey Yesavage is set to climb yet another level in what’s been a meteoric debut season for the right-hander.

The Toronto Blue Jays are promoting Yesavage to triple-A Buffalo, the Bisons announced Monday.

Buffalo marks Yesavage’s fourth stop across the minor leagues this season.

Yesavage started the year in single-A with the Dunedin Blue Jays, but quickly climbed the ranks, making starts in high-A with the Vancouver Canadians and, most recently, in double-A with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

In 19 games across the three minor-league levels, the 22-year-old has a 3.01 ERA, 0.930 WHIP and an impressive 134 strikeouts in 80.2 innings pitched (15 K/9).

He last appeared for the Fisher Cats on Aug. 8, striking out nine over five innings in a bulk relief role — his first appearance out of the bullpen in his pro career.

Davidi reported Thursday that Yesavage has been working back into his routine and schedule after appearing at the MLB All-Star Futures Game in mid-July, adding that “his workload was mapped out to take him wire-to-wire in the minor-league season, with the capacity for some innings at the big-league level, should the Blue Jays have a need and deem him ready.”

Chosen 20th overall in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of East Carolina University, Yesavage started slow in double-A, giving up four runs in less than three innings of work twice in his first four games. However, he has excelled in his last three starts, bringing his ERA with New Hampshire down to 4.50 with a 1.067 WHIP.

In the latest update, MLB Pipeline ranked Yesavage as the No. 26 prospect in all of baseball and the No. 3 right-handed pitcher. He’s also the Blue Jays’ No. 1 prospect.
