The Garmin Bounce 2 kids smartwatch has received another stable update. This follow-up to the original Bounce wearable launched in September 2025, with features like voice calling, two-way voice messaging and a voice assistant.
The new software, version 16.38, arrived a couple of months after the company released version 16.23, which added more activity animations and additional sound options for the wearable’s alarms. The latest Bounce 2 release is relatively minor, bringing a single bug fix to users of the kids smartwatch. In the change log, posted in the Garmin forum, the company states that the update resolves a bug linked to an emoji filter. There do not appear to be any other new features, improvements or bug fixes included in this release.
Garmin’s software version 16.38 update is now available for all users of the Bounce 2 smartwatch (curr. $297.29 at Amazon). To install this update, go to the Garmin Jr. App on a connected smartphone. Alternatively, you can download it directly on the watch by pressing the A button (top) > Select Settings > Select System > Select Software Update.
