Xavier Taylor will make his AFL debut this Sunday

MELBOURNE will unleash its 2025 No.11 selection this weekend, with Xavier Taylor set to make his AFL debut on Sunday.

The exciting news was announced on Wednesday afternoon when senior coach Steven King told Taylor in a special one-on-one moment following training.

Taylor, a versatile defender, first arrived at the club during last year’s National Draft and has been building his game through pre-season and VFL to get ready for senior level football.

Standing at 191cm, his height, speed and ability at the contest have allowed him to match-up against a various class of forwards.

He’ll join the rest of the side in taking on Brisbane in Sunday’s annual Jim’s Game, a match that celebrates all things Irish in honour of the late Jim Stynes. Grab your tickets for the Irish party here.
