Rachel Lee Goldenberg directed the biopic, which will premiere at TIFF, before heading to Hulu and Disney+

Hulu is swiping right on the first look at its new biopic film, Swiped. On Wednesday, the streamer released the trailer for the movie, which follows the creation of Tinder led by Whitney Wolfe Herd, her departure from the dating app, and her launch of the women-focused Bumble — a move that made her (played by Lily James) one of the first self-made female billionaires. The film is out Sept. 19.

The film captures her journey of genius as she innovates the dating scene for millennials while breaking barriers in the tech industry. “Young people don’t date online. If we break through that stigma, suddenly we have complete market share of all millennial dating,” she says early in the trailer. “Just give me $600 and a plane ticket, and I will come back with the next Fortune 500 company.”

The trailer teases the quick growth of the dating apps, much thanks to Herd’s leadership connecting with young women and reaching its first million users… and then the rise of unsolicited dick pics on the platform, as she faces off with her tech bro colleagues within the company as they fail to see eye-to-eye about moderation.

“I built Tinder with them, and they can just delete me,” says James at one point. The trailer then devolves into the entrepreneur launching Bumble as a response to Tinder. The trailer ends with her leading a talk and declaring, “My name is Whitney Wolfe, and I’m starting a revolution.”

Rachel Lee Goldenberg directed and wrote the film alongside Bill Parker and Kim Caramele. James is one of the film producers alongside Jennifer Gibiot, Andrew Panay, Gala Gordon, and Sarah Shepard. Before heading to Hulu (and Disney+ internationally), the film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 9.
