NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has released the seeding ahead of the 2026 MEAC Tennis Championships, hosted by North Carolina Central on April 23-25 at Cary Tennis Park. The NCCU women’s team has earned the fourth seed.

The Eagles finished the regular season 9-9 overall, with a 4-2 record in MEAC action. NCCU’s only conference loses were to co-champions Morgan State and third-seed Howard.

NC Central opens the postseason on Thursday, April 23 at 8 a.m. facing No. 5 Delaware State. The Eagles swept the Hornets at the MEAC Round-up last month. No. 1 Morgan State awaits the winner, as the Bears receive a bye into the semifinals.

Norfolk State also posted a 5-1 conference record, sharing the regular-season title with Morgan State. However, after losing the head-to-head matchup, the Spartans earned the No. 2 seed. NSU will face No. 7 Coppin State on Thursday, April 23 at 8 a.m.

Filling out the remainder of the bracket is No. 3 Howard and No. 6 South Carolina State. The two teams battle on Thursday, April 23 at 11 a.m. Both semifinal matches start at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 24, with the winners competing in the championship on Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m.
