The Hume Freeway is closed in both directions after a multi-vehicle crash near Violet Town in Victoria’s north-east.
Victoria Police said the crash involved a B-double truck and numerous vehicles.
The Country Fire Authority (CFA), Victoria Police, State Emergency Service (SES), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), and Ambulance Victoria are all responding to the incident.
The CFA said seven of its crews attended the scene after reports of a crash just before 1:30pm.

Ambulance Victoria said paramedics from the Advanced Life Support and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance teams attended the scene.
Two adults and two children were taken to Northeast Health Wangaratta by road in a stable condition.
A man in his 50s was also transported by road in a stable condition to Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton.

The CFA issued a warning for a hazardous liquid spill in the area immediately surrounding the crash, but authorities say there is no threat to the community.
The CFA said crews were working to contain the spill.
According to VicTraffic, northbound motorists are being asked to detour via the Goulburn Valley Highway at Seymour.
Southbound motorists have been asked to exit at Violet Town and detour via Murchison-Violet Town Road and the Goulburn Valley Highway.
