David Kellett
Holden HX Kingswood
“Here is my 1977 HX Holden Kingswood, a car I bought in 2023.

“It was last registered in 1994, and took me just under a year to get it back on the road.

“It was in a bad way when I got it; it didn’t run, the brakes were shot, and the interior was destroyed by the sun.
“I did get the 202 running, but it overheated on the first long drive I took it on. So, I looked at rebuilding it.

“A mate had a pretty warm 202 black motor out of a VK Commodore, which I grabbed, along with a four-speed ’box.
“The bonnet scoop is unique; it’s made from a sump for a V8. I really don’t know where I’m headed with this car just yet; I just wanted an old Holden to cruise around in.”

VJ Valiant Regal
“My 1974 VJ Valiant Regal has been in the build for five years now.

“She started her life as a country car, and then made its way to me. I’ve had a passion for Mopars ever since I can remember, as my parents were always dragging one home each week.

“I’ve been dressing this one up in some fancy gear, including CxC bucket seats, a Regal SE dash pad, and Pacer steering wheel, air cleaner and oil cap.

“The wheels are 15×8 on the rear and 15×4 up front. The car is still running its original Hemi six, but later on, it’ll be getting either a 700hp Hellcat crate motor or a 440ci big-block.

“I have named it ‘Thing’, as in, ‘I love this Thing’; ‘sell the stupid Thing’; ‘mongrel of a Thing’; ‘stuff the dumb Thing’ – plus a few other choice words!”

Suzuki Sierra
“I’m building a Suzuki Sierra with a little more than the weak 65hp they come with standard.

“It’s being rebuilt for its turbocharged Mazda 13B rotary swap, backed by a Holden T56 six-speed manual and a Ford 8.8in rear end.

“It’ll be using a Haltech Nexus R3 and PD16, and the firewall has been modified to fit the T56.

“The build process is being documented on my Instagram, @n0oil_.”

2007 Falcon XR8
“I bought this 2007 Ford Falcon XR8 12 years ago, when I was a 17-year-old on P-plates. It was a one-owner, low-kilometre car that was completely stock-standard.
“Over the years, I’ve been turning it into something that goes well enough for the strip while having baby seats in the back to take the kids for a Sunday lunch.

“It currently makes 540rwhp on 10psi of boost, which is reasonable for a factory 5.4 Boss V8. I have fitted an Eaton M122 supercharger from a Shelby GT500 Mustang with a billet MFP manifold kit, and made it all work.

“The air intake is a JLT Shelby pipe, adapted to an FG GT air filter via a fabricated adapter. It uses Bosch 1000cc injectors, a Walbro 460 in-tank fuel pump and flex-fuel for E85 capability, and it breathes through Hurricane four-into-one headers and a Manta twin 3in exhaust system.
“It also has a Mal Wood clutch kit for the six-speed manual, and the rear end features a 3.9:1-geared differential with Truetrac centre.

“The car sits on Tein Super Street coil-overs, paired with Whiteline sway-bars front and rear. It still wears its factory Neo Blue paint that has been corrected and ceramic-coated, and I have used an F6 Typhoon wing to change up the rear styling a touch.”
Robert Kostovski
HSV VP Senator
“My VP Senator is currently in the fabrication stage at EA Industries, with plenty going on at the front and rear.
“The back has been fully tubbed to fit the 22in rear Simmons rims with a heap of dish.
“The engine bay is getting a lot of sheet metal work as well, and the plan is to fit a Holden 355 stroker with an 8/71 blower, Turbo 400 transmission, and a 9in diff. It should be a tough cruiser!”
