Incheon unveils circuit design in bid to host Formula 1 grand prix, meets feasibility test (Korea Herald)

‘According to the plan, the circuit would stretch 4.96 kilometers, feature 15 corners, and allow a top speed of 337 kilometers per hour, with an average speed of around 230 kilometers per hour. The site is located near the Incheon Bridge, the Songdo waterfront and Central Park, and is easily accessible from Incheon International Airport and Incheon Subway Line 1, making it well-suited to host a global event.’

”Formula 1’s bigger than any driver,’ said Russell when asked if he felt there was a danger ⁠Verstappen could decide he’d had enough. ‘You wouldn’t want to lose Max because I think we all enjoy racing against Max. You do understand and recognise the frustration but he’s achieved what most drivers dream of, winning a championship. He’s got four of them. And at the end of the day I guess you get to a point in life that you want, there’s not really much more for him to achieve in Formula 1.”

Verstappen: ‘(Lambiase) told me what kind of offer he received. I said: you would be stupid not to do that. We have already achieved everything together. And then he gets such a great offer, also with his family in mind and the security that this gives him. He asked me for a sort of permission and I said that he absolutely had to do it. He really wanted to hear that from my own mouth.’

‘Former Toyota race engineer Marco Fuga has returned to the Cologne-based team this year after two seasons away from the WEC paddock with the Williams Formula 1 team. Fuga however is not travelling to races this year, instead supporting the team remotely.’

Red Bull has hired Ferrari’s deputy head of vehicle performance Andrea Landi to join as its head of performance in July. He will report to Ben Waterhouse, who has taken on a new role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting to technical director Pierre Wache. #F1 #RaceFans
