A Shepparton man has been charged with offences linked to the theft of seven vehicles across Melbourne, Echuca and Shepparton, including an unmarked police car.
Police allege the man was on bail when he committed the string of thefts in March and April, mainly involving Kia cars.
Police allege a Kia Stinger sedan was stolen in Warrandyte on March 22, before a second Kia Stinger sedan was stolen in Dandenong later that same day.
Police also allege a Chevrolet ute was stolen in Kialla on April 7.
On April 10, it is alleged an unmarked police car, a blue Kia Sorento, was stolen from a car dealership on Benalla Road and a Holden Calais was stolen in the Melbourne suburb of Clyde.
Police allege the man also stole a Toyota HiLux during a burglary in Echuca on April 12, and then stole a Ford Falcon the next day in Orrvale.
The 29-year-old man will face Shepparton Magistrates Court today, charged with motor vehicle theft and several other drugs and weapons offences.
They include methylamphetamine trafficking, possessing GHB, using Victorian police identification and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
