The world awaits the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial Coolie, starring none other than Thalaivar Rajinikanth. The film also features a powerhouse cast including the likes of Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Aamir Khan, Upendra Rao, and Soubin Shahir, to name a few. Music for this ‘star vehicle’ has been composed by none other than the mesmerising Anirudh Ravichander, and the songs are absolute chartbusters. Notably, the song Monica is a tribute to the legendary model-turned-actor. In the particular song video, diva Pooja Hegde enchants the audience with her mesmerising steps, ably supported by Malayalam’s Soubin Shahir. Earlier, in an interview with THRI, Lokesh Kanagaraj had confessed that he and Anirudh are absolute fans of Monica Bellucci, the Italian legend.
Now, in another interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the host Anupama Chopra, while interacting with Pooja Hegde, reveals that she had sent the Monica song from Coolie to Melita Toscan, the head of the Marrakech Film Festival. Melita, apparently, is friends with many celebrities in the ‘West’, including Monica Bellucci.
“You might want to check this out. I think Monica Bellucci would be really interested in seeing this,” Anupama had told Melita.
To add to Pooja Hegde’s excitement, Anupama shares that Melita had texted her back saying that Monica Bellucci loved the song. A confirmation that the Hollywood icon has indeed taken note of the Tamil song.
Reacting to this, an elated Pooja said, “Oh, that’s wonderful! I mean, ever since the release of the song, I think there have been a lot of Tamil fans who took to Bellucci’s Instagram account, asking her to check out the song. Even I like her very much,” Pooja shared her excitement.
Pooja’s delightful conversation with THRI reveals how small this world is… and thanks to the Instagram, we have celebrities of the stature of Monica taking note of the work being done in the Indian film industry.
