A pilot has died in a helicopter crash south of Jericho in western Queensland.
Emergency services were called to the scene on a rural property off Tumbar Road about 9:20am on Monday.
The 42-year-old male pilot was the sole occupant of the Robinson R22 and was declared deceased at the scene.
Police will now prepare a report for the coroner.
A team of specialist investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is expected to arrive on site on Tuesday to conduct aircraft examination and site mapping.
A spokesperson said staff would recover any components of interest for further examination at the ATSB’s technical facilities in Canberra.
Investigators will also interview any witnesses and collect relevant recorded information, as well as pilot and aircraft maintenance records.
