Port Adelaide defender Rome Burgoyne has been named in a preliminary 30-player under-20 state squad.
The under-20 SANFL side will take on the under-18 state team on Sunday, May 16 at Woodville Oval.
Players from every club have been selected, with Burgoyne – younger brother of AFL player Jase – the only representative from Alberton.
Now in his second season with the Magpies, the 19-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the season, averaging 26.7 disposals at 96 per cent efficiency, as well as 6.3 marks and five rebound 50s.

Burgoyne has also been named in coach Jacob Surjan’s best players in two of the three rounds so far this season.
The final team will be named in the coming weeks.
