Coronation Street‘s Brooke Vincent has joined the cast of another soap for a “powerful storyline”. From 2004 to 2019, she portrayed Sophie Webster, taking over the role from Emma Woodward, who played the character between 1997 and 2004.
After a 15-year stint in the role, the star departed the cobbled streets of Weatherfield as she went on maternity leave in 2019. Since then, Vincent has welcomed two sons with her partner, Kean Bryan.
Today (22 April), the soap star announced her return to the soap world, this time in a new role in Hollyoaks. Posting to Instagram, Vincent shared photos of herself on set in front of the Hollyoaks sign.

She wrote: “So excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks for such a powerful storyline!! I am so grateful for this opportunity to be back on screen playing a brand new character plus my family will be happy I’m back in a full time job Haha.”
It’s not yet known what the star’s new role or “powerful storyline” will involve.
Some of her former Corrie co-stars were quick to congratulate her, with Sally Dynevor, who played her on-screen mum, Sally Webster, writing: “Oh Brooke congratulations, you will be absolutely fantastic as you were in Corrie. Can’t wait to watch you xxx.”
Michelle Keegan, who portrayed Tina McIntyre, commented: “Here she is!!!!! Go on mate! xx,” while Ryan Thomas, who is known for his role as Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap, said: “How do I find out about this on social media Sophie on hollyoaks this is a big deal!!!!?”

After a long absence from Corrie, Vincent told OK! Magazine in 2025 that she’d “love to go back” to the ITV show “whenever, if ever, they ask me”, adding it was a “huge part” of her identity.
“I’ve got a lot of friends there, it’s like family. It’s such a lovely place to work, so [I would] definitely [consider reprising my role],” she continued.
“I’ve had such a long time off and I’ve been able to enjoy my children without the tough schedule, which can be hard sometimes.”
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
