WALKINSHAW TWG Racing chief Bruce Stewart has indicated the extent to which he treats Brad Jones Racing’s trio of Supras as an extension of his own team.
It’s clear that the bulk of Toyota success experienced through the opening four rounds of the season has been achieved by the Walkinshaw TWG side, and in particular Ryan Wood.
That’s no reflection however on the dynamic between themselves and BJR, though.
“It’s a great relationship. We hug each other tight,” said Stewart.
“I feel like we have got five cars in the game; I watch where those guys are going as well. The relationship is great.

The Undercut returns in a massive week of sport, with Aaron Noonan once again joined by Jack Perkins, breaking down the inaugural New Zealand double header!
“Brad (Jones) is a hardcore racer. He knows his stuff. André (Heimgartner) was really quick in Sydney, the first race.
“It is very collaborative and we keep working together.”
Heimgartner spoke post-Christchurch of the difficulties in the Car #8 camp to get on top of the brand-new package.
“Sort of still finding our feet. We haven’t quite hit our happy spot with the car, and we’re sort of moving problems around a bit,” said the Kiwi.
“Looking forward to resetting, having a bit of a break and then getting into Tasmania where we can hopefully find our mojo again.”
Wood is the only Toyota driver holding a provisional finals berth, with teammate Chaz Mostert 11th and Heimgartner the best of the BJR bunch in 13th ahead of Cameron Hill (15th) and Macauley Jones (19th).
