Game Recap: Jets v Tuatara
Result: Property Brokers Manawatū Jets (80) are defeated by Jadcup Tuatara (100)
The Property Brokers Manawatū Jets would have quite the challenge on their hands as they’d have to defend homecourt against a dominant looking Jadcup Auckland Tuatara squad. The story of the first half would be fouls and poor 3pt shooting from both teams. After having scored 39 points in his prior game, Kaden Sand would get in early foul trouble and play only 4 mins after picking up 3 fouls. Jamal Poplar Jr would add some strong buckets to give the Jets life as his game high 14 points and 8 boards ignored the fact the Jets were yet to sink a triple in the first half. For the Tuatara, their poor shooting kept the short-handed Jets in the fight. Shooting 2-17 from 3, the squad that looked dominant their first two games would have only a 1 point lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Zach Riley would start the avalanche that would be the Tuatara. The visiting team would start connecting with their shots while the production from the Jets imports would dry up. Tom Vodanovich would provide a massive reinforcement off the bench chipping in 27 points and 7 rebounds. The Tuatara, as per usual, would look dominant down the stretch and would take the game.
