The event, held in Steelton on Saturday, highlighted many of the state’s top senior boys and girls for an action-packed night of competition, skill and pride.
STEELTON, Pa. — High school seniors came together for the Mr. & Miss PA All-State Hoops Classic on Saturday.
The event, held at Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School, highlighted many of the state’s top senior boys and girls for an action-packed night of competition skill and pride.
Students competed in a 3-point “Battle of Champions” contest, a slam dunk contest and two all-star games.
Organizers say the event was a way to celebrate senior before the graduate.
“We’ve had Mr. and Miss PA basketball around for 13 years, so we thought it would be a great cap for the seniors to go out and celebrate the top seniors in the state, and we want it to almost be like the Pennsylvania Big 33 version for basketball — for high school seniors across Pennsylvania,” said Wayde Marisco, CEO of Mr. & Miss PA.
Organizers also say the All-State Hoops Classic is designed to not only honor elite seniors but also to inspire the next generation.
