Hollywood actor Rebel Wilson has arrived at court, where she is expected to give evidence in a defamation trial against her.
Ms Wilson is being sued for defamation in the Federal Court by Charlotte MacInnes, who plays the lead actor in Wilson’s debut directorial film The Deb.
Surrounded by her lawyers and a waiting media scrum, Ms Wilson only offered a “good morning” to reporters quizzing her on how the proceedings were going so far.
Ms MacInnes lodged the case after denying she walked back sexual harassment claims to score acting opportunities.
She argues Ms Wilson made incorrect public statements that the young actor was sexually harassed by The Deb movie producer, Amanda Ghost, after a 2023 incident in the producer’s Bondi apartment.

Ms MacInnes also says Ms Wilson made defamatory public posts accusing her of going back on her story to get further acting jobs.
The court has previously heard that the 2023 incident involved Ms Ghost and Ms MacInnes going for an evening swim in Bondi, where the producer then had a reaction to the cold water and broke out in welts that required her to warm up.
Sue Chrysanthou SC, acting for Ms MacInnes, earlier told the court the pair returned to the apartment to help Ms Ghost warm up with a bath together, and that both kept their swimmers on.

The court has previously heard that in July 2024, Ms Wilson posted a video to her Instagram page accusing Ms Ghost of misconduct towards “the lead actress of the film [The Deb]”.
In August 2024, Ms Wilson allegedly requested her PR firm in the US to create a website about Ms Ghost, which accused the producer of being a “madam” who was “procuring young women for the pleasure of the extremely wealthy”.
So far, the court has heard evidence from Ms MacInnes and Ms Ghost, with Ms Wilson scheduled to take the stand today.
