A BUMPER field of 337 drivers is provisionally set for the second round of the 2026 Penrite Australian Kart Championship, which is set for Ipswich on May 15-17, with a mix of circuit racing aces set to hit the track.
In the mix is Macauley Jones, a veteran of 245 Supercars race starts with Brad Jones Racing.
Jones will line up in the premier KZ2 class, which features 125 cc water-cooled two-stroke engines mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
After much success in his junior karting days leading up to Formula Ford, Jones has continued to dabble in karting throughout his tin-top career, including in KZ2 for a number of years.
The Toyota driver is currently placed 19th in the Supercars Championship standings after four events, and fifth in the KZ2 standings after the Coffs Harbour season opener.
Going head-to-head with Jones will be Oscar Targett.
The former Grove Racing junior driver has shifted this year to Tigani Motorsport’s GT World Challenge Australia squad, while he recently raced in the Bathurst 6 Hour aboard a BMW M4.
Lincoln Taylor has entered in the X30 class.
After finishing runner-up in the 2025 GR Cup, the Walkinshaw TWG Racing Foundation Academy racer this season stepped up to the Porsche Sprint Challenge.
Last week, he participated in the Porsche junior camp in Queensland, while at the Christchurch Super 440, he raced in Formula Ford.
George Gutierrez, who was last seen in the V8 SuperUtes class at Adelaide last year, is down to drive in TaG 125.
