Disney+ is canceling an iconic television series after just two seasons, according to a recent report.
Variety reported that “Goosebumps” will not return for a third season at Disney+.
The horror television series is based on the best-selling R.L. Stine children’s book series. It originally debuted on Disney+ in October 2023. The second season premiered in January this year.
According to the show on Disney+, the series follows a group of five high schooler as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing of a teen named Harold Biddle three decades ago. It also unearthed dark secrets from their parents’ past.
The second season centered on fraternal twins uncovering eerie happenings after moving in with their botanist father, loosely inspired by the book, “Stay Out of the Basement.”
Variety reports that series producer Sony Pictures Television plans to shop the show to other outlets and explore different creative directors.
The show was based off the 62 hit books that originally were published between 1992 and 1997. Stine also wrote various spin-off series,
