In the high-adrenaline world of MotoGP, engineers are often on the hunt for every little scrap of performance they can wring out from the bikes they have developed. However, sometimes the little modifications can be for fun, too.

Marc Marquez has shown what it’s like to party like a MotoGP star in the celebrations seen in the Ducati garage after each of his wins throughout the 2025 MotoGP season.

We’ve seen TikTok dances, champagne by the caseload and a swathe of smiles emerging from the Italian constructors’ garage after the chequered flag.

In the past, Jack Miller was once fined by Honda due to drinking out of his shoe following his win at the Dutch Grand Prix in 2016.

The celebration seemed to take off after Miller’s first ‘shooey’, with F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo paying homage to Miller by doing the same thing after his win at the 2016 German Grand Prix.

Suzuki added a ‘party mode’ feature to Alex Rins’ dash so he could ‘show off’ on slowdown laps

However, the ‘party mode’ comes from the six-time Grand Prix winner Alex Rins, who reportedly had a button on his dash which allowed him to pull off stunts on his Suzuki bike on cooldown laps.

Talking on The Race MotoGP podcast, journalist Simon Patterson revealed the fact, saying, “Completely unrelated, but this is the sort of random fact I never get the chance to throw out in a podcast, but you mentioned Marc [Marquez] in party mode.

“Alex Rins had a spare button on his Suzuki dash that they set up as a party mode that he could push on a slow-down lap, so it switched off all the anti-wheelie and anti-skid so he could show off in the slow-down lap.”

The decision for Rins to want a ‘party mode’ function on his bike actually contrasts with his smooth and almost stiff riding style.

It’s a shame the Spaniard didn’t end up on the podium more often during his six-year stint with the Japanese constructor, or we would have witnessed some more exciting celebrations on the tarmac.

What is Alex Rins’ future at Yamaha in MotoGP looking like?

Rins is currently contracted to Yamaha until the end of 2026, when he will then be able to explore options heading into the new era of MotoGP set to begin in 2027.

However, his future with the team until then isn’t quite safe at the moment. Legendary rider manager Carlo Pernat believes Yamaha could drop Alex Rins for ‘physical reasons’.

Pramac’s Miller has emerged as a name which could fulfil Rins’ spot at the factory team if the team opts to move on.

Yamaha has already had the okay from their main sponsors about the move, due to the fact that the Australian is one of the ‘most marketable’ drivers on the grid. It remains to be confirmed where Miller will be riding next season.
