The Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club hosted one of its biggest rivals, the Denver Barbarians, in a spring tune-up game on Saturday afternoon at Willits Rugby Field. The Gents won, 83-15, which followed a 36-33 win at the Denver Water Dogs on April 11.
Both games were meant to prepare the Gents for USA Club Rugby’s Northern Super Regional, to be held this coming weekend in Lemont, Illinois, home to the Chicago Blaze Rugby Football Club. Aspen is currently scheduled to open regionals on Saturday against Southside Irish Rugby in men’s Division II action.
The USA Club Rugby national championships are scheduled for May 15-17, also in Lemont.
