Comedy mates all muck in for Ed Kavalee’s new feature film.
New comedy telemovie, Cop This, created, written, produced and co-directed by Ed Kavalee will premiere on 10 later this year and Paramount+ thereafter.
The comedy feature, starring over 40 comedy names, takes place on Grand Final Day and is set in a suburban police station about to be replaced by an AI ‘Terminal’.

Key cast are Nicolette Minster, Ed Kavalee, Ray O’Leary, Rob Carlton, Tony Martin, Dilruk Jayasinha, Toby Truslove and Gary Sweet.
The massive supporting and guest cast includes Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann, Dane Simpson, Celia Pacquola, Rob Sitch, Josh Lawson, Violeta Brau Mugica, Dave Hughes, Ash Williams, Anthony Selemidis, Lizzy Hoo, Tommy Little, Ben Knight, Claire Hooper, Ryan Moloney, Lawrence Mooney, Dave Quirk, Amy Ruffle, Tiana Hogben, Firdi Billimoria, Ryan Shelton, Oliver Clark, Mick Molloy, Nick Capper, Bron Lewis, Marsha Vassilevskaia, Sonia Di Iorio, Rob Lloyd, Tom Gleisner, Kate Langbroek and Grant Denyer.
Ed Kavalee said: “Network 10 is without doubt the home of TV comedy and has been the perfect partner for us in making our telemovie. The comedy community has assembled so generously for Cop This. I’m extremely proud of our cast, and I couldn’t be more excited for people to see what we’ve come up with.
“It’s a dark comedy without the darkness, a bittersweet comedy that isn’t bitter. It’s actually, a comedy.”
Head of Scripted Content and Comedy, Paramount Australia and New Zealand, Sophia Mogford said: “When the brilliant Ed Kavalee came to us and said he wanted to make a comedy telemovie with his actor and comedian mates, we of course said, ‘Yes you should!’.
“A ridiculous amount of fun to make for Ed, and for our Aussie audience to watch, this is sure to be one-of-a-kind!”
