Everything To Know About Argentina vs. New Zealand In Rugby Championship

Argentina Rugby pulled off one of the sport’s biggest stunners in 2024, defeating the All Blacks in New Zealand during the Rugby Championship, 38-30.

But Los Pumas didn’t sweep New Zealand. The second game was played at Eden Park — and the All Blacks simply don’t lose at their national stadium. Well, they have, but not since 1994.

What’s in store for 2025? Both matches will be in Argentina this year as Los Pumas look to hand the No. 2-ranked team in the world their first international rugby loss since Nov. 16, when they fell to France 30-29 in the Autumn Nations Series.

The All Blacks avenged that defeat with three straight wins against France in July. Argentina opened its summer with a win over the British and Irish Lions, but dropped two matches to England before crushing Uruguay.

With the 2027 Rugby World Cup draw set for December, both sides are vying for top seeds. That means earning as many ranking points as possible is crucial. Argentina has already slipped after starting the summer ranked No. 5 in the world, now sitting at No. 7 behind England and Australia.
