Brandon Blackstock’s ‘Loving Partner’ Identified as Brittney Marie Jones originally appeared on Parade.
Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s obituary provided insight into his final days of life … alongside a lover.
The late talent manager’s memorial revealed that Kelly’s former assistant, Brittney Marie Jones, was Brandon’s “beautiful and loving partner in life and business” before he died.
“[Brittney and Brandon] started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana,” the message read.
Neither Brandon nor Brittney publicly confirmed their relationship.
Brittney was previously married to Greg Goose LaPoint, according to her Facebook page. She shared wedding photos in September 2021, although it’s unclear when they separated.
Brandon’s family honored his legacy by sharing his achievements and reflecting on his childhood as he grew up in Texas and Wyoming.
“Brandon didn’t do anything halfway. He charged into life with both guns blazing. He was a cowboy … and valued the cowboy way of life,” the memoriam read. “He drove a big truck, rode a good horse, and removed his hat when he introduced himself. He was a sharpshooter, a man’s man, and a true gentleman. He loved a hard day’s work that started early and finished late.”
Kelly, 43, and Brandon’s kids, River Rose Blackstock and Remington Blackstock, were mentioned in the message while his family shared how much he “shined” as a father. The former couple welcomed their son and daughter after they wed in October 2013. They separated in June 2020 and finalized their divorce in March 2022.
“To say he was devoted seems cliché. It feels like an overused word, but it is the correct word,” the obituary later continued. “He was a devoted father. His four children were and will always be his greatest love and his greatest legacy.”
Before his marriage to Kelly, Brandon welcomed his eldest kids, Savannah Blackstock Lee and Seth Blackstock, with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth.
Brandon died on August 7 following a three-year cancer battle. His family shared the tragic news later that day.
The news of Brandon’s death came one day after Kelly postponed the remaining August dates of her Las Vegas residency, revealing that Brandon was “ill.”
