Charlie Cummings gives his top DraftKings WNBA Pick6 plays and projections for the four-game WNBA slate on Wednesday, August 13th.

WNBA action on Wednesday will kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET. We have a four-game slate, starting with the Sky taking on the Sun. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is WNBA Pick6 Fantasy Basketball.

This article will examine my top WNBA Pick6 plays for today’s action. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage ready, here are my favorite picks on the WNBA Pick6 slate.

A’ja Wilson More Than 35.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Nothing can stop A’ja Wilson right now. That sentence has probably been typed a million times.

The best player in the world has looked somewhat nerfed this year. That is, until Becky Hammon moved Jewell Loyd to the bench seven games ago. Las Vegas has won six of those games while the M’VP is playing her best ball of the season. Over those seven games, Wilson is putting up 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. That’s only increased in her last three, racking up 29 points and 13 boards on average. That includes a colossal 32-point, 20-rebound, five-assists game against the Sun.

Jonquel Jones and the Liberty are a much more formidable opponent than the league-worst Sun. But there’s an air of inevitability about A’ja right now, and she can put up monster stat lines against all opponents.

Sug Sutton Less Than 9.5 Points Scored

Brittney Sykes’ departure at the trade deadline changed a lot for the Mystics. Few players have been more affected than Sug Sutton.

Typically a point-of-attack defense-first player, Sutton has been a useful second-side creator for Washington throughout the season. But Sykes was typically the one who stirred the drink, so to speak. Without her, they’re trying to find a new offensive hierarchy on the fly. And it’s not going well for Sutton.

In three games without Sykes, Sutton is averaging 4.0 PPG on 23.8% shooting. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she’s facing a Valkyries defense that has held her to seven total points on 3-of-10 shooting in two games this year. That’s a tough equation for Sug to solve.

Marina Mabrey More than 15.5 Points Scored

It’s been a strange year for Marina Mabrey. Last season, she was acquired by the Sun to be the first player off the bench. Then their entire starting lineup departed, along with most of the bench, leaving Mabrey as far and away their most capable scorer. It was bad enough for Connecticut before Mabrey got injured; then things got heinous. But things have been better for Mabrey since her return.

In nine games since getting back in the lineup, Mabrey is averaging 13.3 points per game. The efficiency hasn’t been there (33.9% from the field, 27.1% from three), but the volume is there, attempting 14.1 shots per game. As she has built back up to full minutes, the box score is being filled; Mabrey scored 18+ points in three straight before getting shut down by the Valkyries.

Wednesday’s game against a putrid Sky defense is a chance to get back on track. Count on Marina to fill it up in the scoring column in this battle of lottery-bound teams.

Janelle Salaün More Than 1.5 Three-Pointers Made

It’s been an up-and-down season for Janelle Salaün. The rookie has seen inconsistent playing time this year, primarily due to her absence at Eurobasket, like many other Valkyries. But now she’s finding a groove again and is in the good graces of head coach Natalie Nakase. And that bodes well for her shooting.

Salaün has played 30+ minutes in seven games this year, hitting multiple threes in six of those contests. Four of those 30-minute games have come in the last three weeks. That includes her last two games, where Janelle has hit seven of 15 attempts from distance.

It’s not the flashiest play for your lineup. But you can count on Janelle to cash threes and solidify your WNBA Pick6 lineup.
