Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz, speaking to Sky Sports: “There are a lot of emotions, I think relief in the end. In
the first half we struggled a lot. They are good, they made it difficult for us,
but in the second half we were much better.
“We dominated most of the
second half even though they had a couple of opportunities also. This group never
gives up, we will always work so hard to find a way to win, and I think that’s
what’s so special about these players. The determination is always there, they
keep fighting, and that is why we are here with three points.”
On Liverpool: “I think there is always an opponent
doing something a little bit different than we expected. They were pressing us
hard, we knew that, but they also overloaded us in a couple of situations in
the beginning.
“Also, I think in the first half, there was almost too many easy
mistakes, unforced errors that we normally wouldn’t do, but in the circumstances
of the game, it’s a huge game for a lot of players, and then turning around the
second half was amazing.”
On being proud of his team’s performance: “So, proud. It shows that we are working so
hard, we want to be in this situation for the last round where everything is up
to us. We are not playing the best football we have ever played, but the greatest
teams win games anyway, and the mentality in the group is amazing, so of course
I’m proud.”
On being unbeaten at home: “It shows something about our
stadium and the people coming to our games and how comfortable the players feel
here. This is our castle and nobody is going to challenge us here.”
On the next few weeks: “We know what it is about now. We will enjoy this evening,
and we have an fantastic game next weekend against Chelsea in the FA Cup
semi-final, which will require all our focus and then after that we can talk
about West Ham.”
