Culture Amp, the Melbourne-headquartered employee experience tracking start-up valued at more than $2 billion, allegedly sacked a senior artificial intelligence specialist less than three months after he started, partly because he complained about how ambiguous his role was.

A former data scientist at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and head of artificial intelligence at insurance underwriter Neos, Gareth Roberts joined Culture Amp in September as a principal AI specialist.
