The 2026 Met Gala is in full swing. The annual event’s feted red carpet has been thrumming with stars at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. For fashion’s biggest night out, hosted by Vogue, this year’s theme champions Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Costume Art,” with the declarative dress code “Fashion Is Art.” Co-chaired by the likes of Venus Williams, Beyoncé, and Nicole Kidman, the night invites a wave of interpretations of a dress code that so far, have leaned literal and figurative.

One group shining brighter than the rest, however, has to be the Kpop stars turning looks on the steps of the Met. First to arrive, Blackpink powerhouses Rosé and Lisa have lit up the carpet with their contrast looks. Lisa pulled out all the stops in a custom, all-white, iridescent gown studded with jewels and a matching veil, courtesy of Robert Wun. As a final touchpoint, custom arms moulded from her own body snaked out of the back of her dress.

In customary Saint Laurent, Rosé went the LBD route with a high-slit strapless gown topped with a sequinned bird-shaped applique. EJAE, who is christening her Met Gala debut this year, stepped out in a lacquered, sculptural dress beaded in gem stones. The K-pop Demon Hunter star completed the look with a diamante-encrusted updo.

No matter which way you lean, it’s apparent that the Kpop girls are stepping it up a notch—delivering sophistication and creative flair to this year’s theme.
