Mortgage repayments going up? This calculator shows what the RBA hike could cost you
The Reserve Bank has lifted the cash rate by another 0.25 percentage points, taking it back to 4.35 per cent, its post-COVID peak.
For households on variable-rate mortgages, that means repayments could soon rise again, depending on how much of the increase your bank decides to pass on.
The ABC’s mortgage repayment calculator lets you plug in your loan size, interest rate and remaining term to estimate how much extra you could be paying each month.
The figure is only a guide. It does not include bank fees or individual lender charges, but it gives borrowers a quick way to see what the latest RBA decision could mean for their budget.
